Complete Quality is seeking Sit Down Forklift Operator to provide warehouse support services under contract for our Ryder warehouse located in Lafayette, IN. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. This role is essential for efficient warehouse operations, including the safe and accurate handling of materials, order picking, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess strong forklift skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience in warehouse distribution processes. Your contributions will directly support our commitment to timely shipping, receiving, and overall warehouse productivity.
Schedule:
2nd Shift (4:30 PM – 1:00 AM)
Compensation:
Approximately $18.50 Hourly / Weekly pay via 1099
Duties
* Safely operate sit-down forklifts, including Hi-Lo, reach truck, clamp truck, and pallet jack equipment to load and unload materials.
* Perform order picking using various warehouse management systems and ensure accurate selection of items according to order specifications.
* Manage shipping and receiving tasks by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, inspecting loads for damage, and ensuring proper documentation.
* Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain operational safety and efficiency.
* Assist with materials handling activities such as heavy lifting, stacking, and organizing inventory within the warehouse.
* Support warehouse management in maintaining organized storage areas and adhering to OSHA safety standards.
* Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve processes, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* Utilize basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and verifying quantities during order fulfillment.
Requirements:
* Certified with electric sit-down forklift experience
* Must clear background check, drug screen, and E-Verify prior to start date.
* Steel toe boot/composite shoes
* Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts such as Hi-Lo, reach truck, clamp truck, or similar heavy equipment within a warehouse environment.
* Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), order picker operations, and shipping & receiving procedures.
* Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and maintenance is preferred.
* Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and heavy lifting safety protocols.
* Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory management.
* Prior experience in warehouse distribution or related roles is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with OSHA safety standards for forklift operation and general warehouse safety practices.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
